전화받아

통화좀 할게

가끔 통화해

 

늘 전화하고 통화하는데 

한국어로는 통화하다 전화하다는 같은 뜻인데

영어는 문맥에 따라 다른 듯합니다.

 

 

오늘은 이거에 대해 

빨간모자샘과 함께  공부해봐요!!

 

 

 

 

A: 안받어? 괜찮아 어서 받어.

 

 

Aren't you going to get that/ answer that/ pick up that?

 

It's Ok. Go ahead , answer it. 

 

 

B: 여보세요? 잠시만요.

 

 

Hello? could you hold on (for) a second (minute)?

 

 

미안한데. 통화 좀 하고 올게.

 

I'm sorry but I need (have) to  take this(+call).

 

 

 

**Make a pohone call (내가 전화를 걸때)

**take the call ( 전화를 받을 때)

 

 

A: 어 그래. 어서 하고와.

 

 

Yeah, go ahead. Take your time.

 

 

B: 삼촌이었어.

 

 

That was my uncle.

 

 

A: 삼촌이랑 친해?

 

 

Are you close with your uncle?

 

 

 

B: 우리 아버지가 돌아가시고 나서부터 가끔 전화를 하시더라구.

 

 

(Ever) since my dad passed away, he has been calling me from time to time //every now and then.

 

 

 그렇게 친한 건 아닌데 요즘은  1주일에 한 두 번 정도 통화 해.

 

 

We're not that close, we talk on the phone once or twice a week.

My mom usually call me  three times a week. 

We talk on the phone mostly about health related issue.

Yesterday I took her call from the tax office. She had to pay some tax related to land donation.

This evening  I am going to talk on the phone to my brother.
